Summary of our Annual Report:
A PDF file of our annual report is available here.
The total amount in our Main Fund is $23,828.84. Bear in mind that there is currently $11,000.00 in the 2010 Nationals Fund which will be paid out in prize money, so the actual amount in our Main Fund is $12,828.84.
There is currently $ 2,286.46 earmarked exclusively for our Juniors/Ladies Billiards Fund, $2,300.00 paid already for 2011 dues, $180.00 paid already for 2012 dues, $45.00 paid for 2013 dues and $45.00 for 2014 dues. The 2011-2014 dues funds will not be included in our Main Fund until the beginning of each appropriate year so that we do not spend "future" money too early.
If you add the amounts in the Main Fund, the Junior/Ladies Billiards Fund and the 2011 through 2014 dues Funds you will get the approximate amount displayed in the report: $23,828.84. The actual amount we have available is $11,000.00 less because of the Nationals prize fund, as stated previously.
The number of paid members is constantly changing since we enacted the new policy that all dues payments last one full year from the date of payment. So the actual membership numbers are not constant. At this very moment it stands at 454 members that are current, however many people are in the process of renewing their memberships as we speak. I think it would be safe to estimate that we fluctuate between 400-550 members over the year. This is a nice thing because without our members we would be unable to maintain the things we have been doing. However, we should not be satisfied with this. We need to bring our numbers up substancially. In order to do this, we need to hold more USBA sanctioned tournaments throughout the country. More tournaments means more excitement which means more members. We need more volunteers to run USBA tournaments, even if they are small ones. The small ones are very easy to run. Why not volunteer to run a small USBA tournament in your local room or even in a different room which doesn't have any USBA members? How about doing just one event for the whole year? Is that too much to ask?
If many people volunteered to do this we could end up doubling our membership numbers overnight. Please think about it.
